2010 NFL Schedule Released, Vikings Fans Still Boo-Hooing

When the NFL released their 2010 schedule on Tuesday night, the majority of football fans were busy circling the must see games on their calendars.

Except for a portion of Minnesota Vikings fans who are still boo-hooing about the NFC championship game.

Rather than search for NFL tickets or be elated for the rematch between the Vikings and New Orleans Saints to open the 2010 NFL season, they spent their time complaining on message boards.

Here are a few of the tamer comments I found around the Internet.

“The Saints’ victory was a fluke, so was their Super Bowl victory.”

“The Saints are filled with dirty players who tried to take out a legend.”

“Despite the five turnovers by the Vikings, they owned the Saints and should have won.”

“The referees gave the game to the Saints. It was not fair that the Vikings did not get the ball in overtime.”

The only thing I have to say is, stop boo-hooing Vikings’ fans!

Your team blew it, or I should say your quarterback blew it.

Just seconds away from Minnesota’s first trip to the Super Bowl since the Carter administration, your boy, Brett Favre, threw a stupid pass across the middle of the field into coverage and that’s why the Vikings lost the game. Period.

Good-bye Super Bowl tickets, hello offseason.

The Vikings had plenty of opportunities to step up and make plays when needed. But we know that didn’t happen. In fact the opposite happened.

Favre could have used better judgment, but as he’s shown throughout his career, the likelihood of him making at least one ill-fated decision during a game will ultimately cost his team dearly.

And Adrian Peterson needs to hold onto the damn ball too. What was it, three fumbles? I lost count.

Minnesota turned the ball over five times during the game and as we all know – at least those of us that know something about football – turnovers will almost always get you beat.

Instead of complaining about the past, Vikings’ fans should be happy to open the 2010 NFL season. This nationally televised game will help bring Favre out of his “retirement” for the fifth time.

Look at it this way. Perhaps this time Favre won’t make another critical mistake to cost the Vikings the game. But I’m not going to hold my breath.

Just think, if the referees would have actually made the right calls, the Vikings would have won EVEN with the turnovers. Even the NFL admitted they missed calls, in particular the illegal hits on Favre. I don’t think any Vikings fan would be complaining otherwise.
