Today is Memorial Day, the day we honor those who gave their lives for freedom.
Memorial Day isn’t limited to those who died for America, it’s a day when we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom loving people around the globe.
Throughout our nation’s history, brave men and women have gone into battle to gain our nation’s independence, free the oppressed, rid the planet of tyrants and restore freedom to those who had it stolen from them.
Every day is Memorial Day, for without the dedication and sacrifices of those who fought we wouldn’t have the freedoms we enjoy today.
No, America isn’t perfect, but today isn’t about politics or the politicians who make the decisions. It’s about those who gave their lives despite the foolish decisions made by those who mean to lead.
I’m a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and I’d like to thank all of those that have served this nation and continue to do so today.
I’d also like to extend my deepest condolences to those whose loved ones have died in uniform for America.
While you enjoy a day off with family and friends, please take a moment to remember what this day is about. And if you get a chance, drive by a national cemetery and say thanks.
