A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan following a Los Angeles Supreme Court judge’s ruling the actress has violated the terms of her May bail.
Judge Marsha Revel, who ordered Lohan wear an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet, summoned the actress’ attorney into court after learning the device started flashing during a night out.
Lohan reportedly had broken a court order banning her from drugs and alcohol after the bracelet began flashing at an event on June 6.
The Mean Girls actress attended Katy Perry’s MTV Movie Awards party in Los Angeles and turned heads when the flashing beeper, which alerts authorities if she breaks her drinking ban, started to flash.
Lohan was ordered to wear the SCRAM bracelet in May after missing probation hearings related to drug and drunk-driving arrests.
Judge Marsha Revel was taking no chances when she ordered Los Angeles prosecutors and Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley into court in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.
Following the emergency hearing, Revel ruled the alarm constitutes a violation of Lohan’s bail agreement
A new bail has been set at $200,000. A status hearing is still scheduled for July 6.
It’s the second arrest warrant issued for Lohan in the past month. Lohan tested Revel’s patience when she failed to show up in court for a scheduled hearing on May 20, claiming her passport was stolen at the Cannes Film Festival and she was stranded in France.
That warrant was rescinded after an aide to the star put down $10,000 towards her $100,000 bail.
