The Hills actress Heidi Montag has made her split from co-star husband Spencer Pratt official and has filed for a legal separation.
Montag and Pratt wed in Mexico in 2008 and exchanged vows for a second time on TV in 2009 amid claims their initial nuptials were not legal.
Montag’s representative confirmed she split from Pratt in May.
Her spokesperson told TMZ.com: “Heidi is looking to move out due to all the fake bad press that Spencer controls. She’s tired of it and is looking for a place and wants to focus on her acting career.”
Heidi Montag was photographed leaving the Santa Monica Courthouse on Tuesday after filing separation papers. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as reason for the split.
