NBA.com writer Fran Blinebury lists Memphis Grizzlies forward Ronnie Brewer among his five best young NBA free agents.
Brewer was acquired by the Grizzlies in a mid-season trade with the Utah Jazz last season.
He injured his hamstring during the first game he appeared in a Memphis uniform and only played in five games for the rest of the season.
Kyle Lowry, a former Grizzlies player, is also on Blinebury’s list.
Now that the 2010 NBA Draft is completed, everyone from Stephen A. Smith to Joe the Plumber are grading how each team fared.
Adi Joseph of NBADraft.Net gave the Memphis Grizzlies a B- after they selected Kansas guard Xavier Henry and Maryland guard Greivis Vasquez.
Joseph says, “Henry was 12th on NBADraft.net’s big board, while Vasquez is a perfect fit to play alongside O.J. Mayo in the backcourt.”
Joseph wasn’t the only NBA writer that thought Henry was a good pick for Memphis.
HoopsWorld.com writer Alex Raskin listed Henry among the five players he thought were the biggest steals of the 2010 NBA Draft.
Raskin says, “In other years, Henry would have been a higher pick. But in a draft that was stocked with the most precious of commodities (big men), Henry slipped to No. 12.”
