According to multiple reports, the Memphis Grizzlies have signed free agent Tony Allen to a three-year deal worth $10 million.
Allen was drafted in the first round by Boston in 2004 and has spent six seasons with the Celtics. The 6-4 shooting guard provided solid minutes off the bench in helping Boston to the NBA finals.
The move could mean the Grizzlies will not re-sign free agent Ronnie Brewer, whom Memphis acquired via a trade with the Utah Jazz.
Allen averaged over seven points a game coming off the bench for Boston last season. He’s expected to compete with point guard Mike Conley for the starting job
