English actress Anna Friel celebrates her 34th birthday today.
Friel got her professional acting career off the ground at the tender age of 13 on the British TV mini series G.B.H.
In 1992, she was added to the cast of the soap opera Brookside where she created quite a stir.
When she was just 16 years old, her character Beth Jordache kisses another girl, remaining one of the most talked about moments in British soap history.
In 1996, Friel appeared in the television film The Tribe, which included nudity and a much discussed menage a trois sex scene.
In 1998 Friel began moving away from television roles to appear in films, the first of which was The Land Girls.
Over the past 12 years she’s appeared in more than 20 films, including St. Ives, Rogue Trader, Perfect Strangers, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Land of the Lost.
