Armed Men Visited Lorenzen Wright’s Ex-Wife’s Home Prior to His Murder

According to a report by The Commercial Appeal, three armed men visited the home of Lorenzen Wright’s ex-wife Sherra Robinson-Wright several weeks prior to his murder.

Robinson-Wright reportedly informed her divorce attorney Gail Mathes about the armed men looking for her ex-husband.

However, it’s unclear whether her attorney conveyed that information to law enforcement officials.

Memphis police have yet to determine if the armed men had any involvement in the murder of Wright.

The former Memphis Grizzlies player was found dead in a wooded area not far from his mother’s home on Wednesday, nine days after he was last seen.

In a related development, Germantown police are investigating the reasons why a 911 call from Wright’s cell phone around 1:00 a.m. on the day he was murdered wasn’t reported.

On Thursday, Germantown police chief Richard Hall said he wasn’t aware of the 911 call until July 27 – eight days after the call was made.

According to The Commercial Appeal, Hall said that his department was conducting a formal administrative review of the actions of the unidentified dispatcher.

As we reported on Thursday, the dispatcher who received the call heard a scared male voice utter two expletives, then “dozens of gunshots”.

After the 911 call was disclosed to the Memphis police and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, cadaver dogs quickly found Wright’s body in the wooded area near the TPC Southwind golf course.
