Ray Carson went fishing one morning in early July hoping to land a few lunkers from his usual spot at a lake in Stephen C. Foster State Park.
As he was navigating his boat toward the fishing hole, Carson encountered at least 150 alligators in an extremely agitated state.
Like everywhere in the southern portion of the U.S. this year, it’s been excessively hot and water levels in lakes are very low.
As a result of the low water, fish beds dry up, forcing alligators to move into open water looking for food.
Carson said the alligators were biting at everything that came near them and were even attacking each other.
Somehow he managed to cross the spot they were in without being attacked and shot this video that has more than 100,000 views on YouTube.
I’ve got to hand it to Carson. If I saw so much as one alligator in the water, I’d turn the boat around and head back to the pier.
