Forbes released their list of what they believe are the best sports fans in America, with Boston Red Sox fans topping the rankings.
Forbes used three different metrics to determine their list, grading each team in all of the major professional sports.
First, home and away game attendance figures were used to determine a team’s drawing power.
Next, each organization’s merchandise sales were totaled for the past year. Finally, each team’s in-market popularity based on surveys were measured.
Following the Red Sox on Forbes list were the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Tigers, Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots.
Other notable team’s with the best fans included the Dallas Cowboys at No. 9, the St. Louis Cardinals at No. 10 and the New York Yankees at No. 14.

I wonder what surveys were conducted. I mean, I agree with the attendance and merch. sales but I can only hope that they weren’t simply asking how cool is your team!?
