All of the major college football conferences have secured deals to send their member teams to the 35 bowl games scheduled this season.
The 2010-11 college football bowl schedule is largely complete with a few dates and kickoff times yet to be determined.
Each conference will send – or at least hope to send – a guaranteed number of teams to particular bowl games.
This list outlines all of the bowl games and the conference tie-ins. The SEC has the most tie-ins with nine teams set to play in bowl games.
The Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC each have eight bowl tie-ins while the Big East, Pac-10 and Conference USA will each send six of their teams to bowl games.
Most of the bowls have contingency plans if a particular conference can’t meet their quota.
The NCAA requires that a team can only be extended a bowl game invitation unless it has a minimum of six victories against FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) opponents.
