Oprah Winfrey is tops with a whopping $315 million annually for her talk show, but Judge Judy pulls down $45 million a year for presiding over cases filed by half-wits.
That’s pretty impressive compared to David Letterman and Jay Leno, who earn $28 million and $25 million respectively.
Two of the most grossly overpaid people on the planet include Ryan Seacrest, who gets $15 million a year for doing nothing on American Idol and Katie Couric, who makes $16 million annually for the lowest rated network nightly news program in America.
Matt Lauer of NBC’s Today program earns more than $16 million a year – another waste of money. MSNBC pays Keith Olbermann $7 million a year to be pompous and arrogant while generally being devoid of any original thoughts.
According to TV Guide, network executives intend to trim salaries for this year’s fall shows since ad revenues have declined as a result of the recession.
