Rod Woodson Says He’s Lost Respect For Brett Favre

NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson said on Tuesday’s NFL Total Access that he’s lost respect for Brett Favre over the past five years.

Host Rich Eisen asked Woodson his opinion about Favre flying to Minnesota on Tuesday after teammates Jared Allen, Ryan Longwell and Steve Hutchinson had visited with him.

The meeting took place in an apparent effort to convince Favre he should play one more season for the Vikings, after announcing last week that he was considering retirement due to his surgically repaired left ankle taking longer to heal than expected.

Woodson, unlike most in the media who have sucked up to Favre, said he’s had enough of his Prima dona act.

“This five-year saga, I think, is played out,” Woodson said. “I think a lot of veterans in the National Football League, even though I’ve been retired for seven years, are really tired of this.

He had a tremendous year last year. There’s no doubt that Brett Favre is a Hall of Fame quarterback,” Woodson said.

“But I’ve lost respect for Brett in what he’s done the last five years, and I’ve lost some respect to where an organization has to go to win a Super Bowl.and thinking that this is the only way to do it. So, here we go again. It’s win a Super Bowl (or bust) for the Vikings.”

Rod Woodson is my hero. I’ve grown so tired of listening to the media gush about Favre while he’s played this game over the last five offseasons.

Someone in the media finally spoke the truth about Favre and Woodson didn’t hold anything back.
