If you’ve tried turning off Google Instant to no avail, here’s an easy resolution to the problem.
I use the latest version of Firefox, my OS is Windows 7 and I have Google set as my homepage.
Even though there’s an option to turn off Google Instant in the search settings, it doesn’t work.
But in Firefox you can click on “tools” in your tool bar, then “options”, then click on the “general” tab.
In the field where you insert the home page URL, change it from http://www.google.com to http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0&hl=en then click “OK” at the bottom of the screen.
Viola! No more Google Instant – thank God. It was driving me crazy.
I don’t know about other browsers or OS’s, but at least this will resolve the problem using Firefox and Windows 7.
