Over at SEC Rivals the College Football Pick ‘Em contest is rolling along nicely. After three weeks, yours truly is leading all participants with a 37-2 record.
My two losses you ask? Games where I picked my very good friends at Ole Miss to win.
As someone who likes to pride himself on knowing college football better than most, it pains me to pick a team that should win only to see them lose to inferior opponents.
During the kickoff weekend, Ole Miss – aka The Fightin’ Ackbars – blew a 31-10 lead and lost at home to FCS member Jacksonville State.
Last weekend I picked the Rebels to defeat Vanderbilt at home, and by all accounts that’s a game Ole Miss should have won.
But no, the Rebels did it to me again by losing to the Commodores 28-14. I can understand losing a game against a powerhouse like Jacksonville State, but Vandy?
Losing at home to Vandy should be grounds for expulsion from the SEC, but every conference needs one team that is unilaterally hated, and in the Southeastern Conference that team is Ole Miss.
I’ve vowed not to pick Ole Miss to win a game the rest of the season, although looking at their remaining schedule The Fightin’ Ackbars have two more games they should win: this week against Fresno State and on November 6 against Louisiana-Lafayette.
But if you can’t beat Jacksonville State and Vanderbilt, I’m not too sure I’m going to stick my neck out in either of those games.
So thanks Ole Miss, I really appreciate you screwing up what should be a perfect record. And before I go here’s a little tribute to everyone who attends that fine institution in Oxford.
Hotty Toddy, Kiss My Ass Bitches.
Love,
MoonDog

LMFAO … too funny! I agree though … unless Ole Miss lines up against Mother Mercy Poor Sister’s for the Weak, they are going to be a risk to pick …. 37-2 after 3 weeks and the same team screwed you both times … that is simply amazing
