If you watched the season two premier of Eastbound and Down on Sunday, chances are you were laughing throughout the entire episode.
Danny McBride plays the role of Kenny Powers, alias Kenny F*ckin’ Powers, the greatest relief pitcher ever to play baseball and resident bad ass extraordinaire.
Kenny is in Mexico where he briefly dabbles as Steve the cockfighter, wearing his hair in cornrows and employing a midget sidekick that’s beyond certifiable.
Later he sees nightclub singer Vida, played by Ana de la Reguera. Vida is a chick Kenny had a one night stand with and he wants to get back into her life, or rather he wants to get back into Vida. I don’t blame him.
Kenny has an epiphany and rides his moped over to the local baseball field where the hometown team the Charros play.
He proceeds to tell everyone that he’s now a member of the team, even though he was never invited to join the club.
As only Kenny can do, he basically tells his new teammates that he’s their savior and throws a baseball through a window to show off his arm.
The best thing about being Kenny Powers is being Kenny Powers – or I should say Kenny F*ckin’ Powers.
If you get HBO, tune in or DVR Eastbound and Down every Sunday night. It’s hilarious and Danny McBride plays the role to absolute perfection.
