Major League Baseball announced the umpiring crews that will work the divisional series that begin today and the only question I have is how many blown calls will we see this year.
Over the course of the playoffs I’m betting we’ll see at least five blown calls – and I’m being conservative in my estimate.
Considering the report conducted by Outside The Lines showed that MLB umpires blow one in five calls every game, it won’t come as a surprise if we see more than five throughout the playoffs.
But hey, baseball doesn’t need instant replay. We don’t want to remove the human element from the game because that’s what makes it so special.
Yea, right.
Tell that to the fans of the team that loses a game or perhaps a series because an umpire blew a call.
