New York Post columnist Phil Mushnick attacked the SEC in an article posted Monday over the allegations surrounding Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.
Mushnick suggested that the federal government should launch an investigation into the SEC for what he describes as “a matter of filthy, filthier, filthiest” conference in America.
Mushnick wrote, “If the Feds were ever to prosecute an NCAA Division I football or basketball conference for racketeering — and they should — they should begin with the SEC.”
ESPN and CBS also drew Mushnick’s contempt, claiming both were “see-no-evil underwriters” of what he called racketeering regarding the SEC’s television contracts with those networks.
