Victoria’s Secret Models, CBS NFL Today Show Don’t Mix Well

Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge was invited to take part in predicting Sunday’s games during the CBS NFL Today show and the boys failed to act like adults.

You may recall last year that Candice Swanepoel – another Victoria’s Secret model – was the guest on the predictions segment of the show.

Swanepoel’s appearance on NFL Today left Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and Shannon Sharpe looking flustered and completely foolish.

You would think the boys had learned their lesson after the Swanepoel incident, but Esiason drove the segment into a ditch.

Aldridge provided a brief explanation for her predictions and she exhibited a decent amount of knowledge, with Marino jokingly suggesting that he was going to peek at her notes.

That’s when Esiason said, “Dan’s looking at the notes. Shannon (Sharpe) is looking at other things.”

Okay, as far as ill-conceived comments go, Esiason’s remarks were pretty tame.

I’ll be the first to admit that it would be difficult to focus when Victoria’s Secret models as lovely as Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel are part of the show.

Aldridge and Swanepoel should have been treated as guests instead of eye candy – even though they are eye candy and were invited to be there to help drive ratings for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

But considering the issues surrounding TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz and the allegations of Vikings quarterback Brett Favre sending former Jets employee Jenn Sterger inappropriate text messages and photos, Boomer would have been well-served to keep his mouth shut.
