Arkansas Razorback fans buying Allstate Sugar Bowl tickets could be out of luck, with reports that hundreds of the purchased tickets could be worthless.
Arkansas fan Rucina Johnson spent $200 on tickets for the game between the Razorbacks and Ohio State from StubHub!. She just learned her tickets may be no good.
“This was my Christmas present, so this has kind of taken the fun and the joy out of going,” said Johnson.
Johnson discovered that two of the four tickets she bought are on the “duplicate list.”
“I’ve gone from losing a hotel room, having to get another hotel room,” said Johnson. “I prepaid for it, so I have to go, and it’s just very frustrating.”
Ticketmaster says it sent out approximately 1,700 tickets for 850 seats due to a computer glitch that occurred in October.
Customers are being notified to destroy duplicate tickets, but that doesn’t solve the problem for those people that purchased tickets from StubHub! and other online ticket exchanges.
So far the only solution anyone has come up with is to have the tickets scanned upon entering the stadium, and allowing those with duplicate tickets into the Superdome on a first come, first serve basis.
The University of Arkansas says none of the tickets bought through the school are affected.
StubHub! says if tickets purchased through their Web site are refused, they will try to find ticket holders another seat. If that’s not possible, people with duplicate tickets will get a refund.
