On Tuesday night while serving as host for the vacationing Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson said that Michael Vick should have been executed for his dog fighting crimes.
As stupid as that was, on Wednesday MSNBC’s Cenk Uygur attacked Carlson for his comments in an effort to defend Vick, but made his own idiotic statement in the process.
Uygur said that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin should be made to answer for shooting caribou on her reality TV series “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” saying “I know there’s a difference, but is it really that large?”
Yea moron, it is. And by the way, hunting caribou is legal while dog fighting isn’t.
This isn’t a defense of what Vick did, but I’m in the crowd that believes he paid his debt to society and deserves a second chance.
For Carlson to say that someone should be put to death for dog fighting is absurd, and equally absurd is Uygur’s suggestion that Palin should be condemned for legally hunting caribou.
In the end, these two nit wits aren’t all that interested in Michael Vick or his dog fighting conviction. What’s at play here is the perpetual ratings war that exists between Fox News and MSNBC.
And it’s a game that MSNBC is losing and losing badly. The network that employs more raving lunatics than any other can’t gain viewers by using conventional methods – you know, like reporting the news – so they engage in personal attacks as opposed to supporting their arguments with real facts.
This isn’t a defense of Fox News either. Gas bags like Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity are just as guilty of attempting to sway their sycophants with rhetoric that’s geared to increase ratings and nothing more.
People like Michael Vick and Sarah Palin are pawns in a game being played poorly by two networks that have no one’s best interests in mind, other than their own.
And the viewers amount to nothing more than sheep being led on a predetermined path, one that makes Fox News and MSNBC a little richer.
