Memphis Grizzlies Pound Lakers 104-85

Amidst the final week of the NFL regular season on Sunday, the Memphis Grizzlies beat the living hell out of the Los Angeles Lakers 104-85.

The Grizzlies continued a season-long trend of beating the NBA’s best teams in handing the Lakers one of their most embarrassing home losses this year.

Memphis withstood a mild rally in the third quarter when Kobe Bryant tried to get the Lakers back in it, but to no avail.

It was the Grizzlies second win of the season over the Lakers, and they did it playing the type of basketball their capable of every time they take the floor.

The problem with the Grizzlies though is that they play to their level of competition. In addition to the two wins over the Lakers, Memphis has beaten Dallas and Miami too.

But the Grizzlies have lost against some of the dregs of the NBA as well, dropping games to New Jersey, Sacramento, Cleveland and Washington.

With their record now 15-19, Memphis is three games out of the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Despite playing in the very tough Southwest Division, Memphis could still find their way into the playoffs if they can stop losing games against teams they should beat.

Perhaps the Grizzlies can overcome their problems beating bad teams by envisioning the word “Lakers” is on the jersey of every team they face.
