Seminoles, Auburn, Tide, Trojans Land Top Recruiting Classes

Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, and Southern California were among the teams that signed the best college football recruiting classes on Wednesday.

Coaches around the country had a smile or an occasional frown depending upon which school one of the nation’s most talented prep prospects announced their decision to attend.

ESPN rated Florida State’s class the best, while Scout had Auburn’s class number one and Rivals listed Alabama as the recruiting national champions.

ESPN, Rivals and Scout all had four SEC teams among their top 10 and nine among their top 25.

Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and LSU were listed among the top 10 classes while Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas and Ole Miss were among the top 25.

The Pac-12 had a solid day with Southern California and Oregon each signing talented classes. Joining the Trojans and Ducks were California, Stanford and Washington among Scout’s top 25 classes.

Four ACC teams – Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia – were among Scout’s top 25 classes. The Big 12 also had four teams in Scout’s top 25 – Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

The Big Ten had a terrible day signing what the recruiting services considered the best prospects, placing only two teams – Ohio State and Nebraska – among the nation’s top 25 classes.

Jadeveon Clowney, a defensive end from Rock Hill, SC that most consider to be the nation’s top rated prospect, will announce his decision to attend Alabama, Florida State, North Carolina, Clemson or South Carolina on Friday.
