We witnessed yet another celebrity botch the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV when Christina Aguilera completely screwed up the lyrics.
It’s getting rather embarrassing watching what are supposed to be professional entertainers sing the National Anthem off key or forgetting the lyrics.
In fairness, the National Anthem is a tough song to sing. But considering the Super Bowl is the biggest television event of the year, at minimum the NFL should choose someone to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” who actually knows the words.
I’ve got a suggestion for the NFL. Let’s replay Whitney Houston’s rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV.
Her singing of the National Anthem is clearly the best of all-time, so why not use it every year at the Super Bowl and forget about it.
