Christina Aguilera has been given another opportunity to sing the National Anthem after mixing up the words at Super Bowl XLV.
The bosses of Minor League baseball team the Brooklyn Cyclones have invited the singer to perform at any of their home games at MCU Park this summer.
Aguilera was heavily criticized after she messed up one of the lines of the National Anthem before the Super Bowl XLV.
The Cyclones are a New York Mets farm team that plays in the short-season New York-Penn League.
A statement from Cyclones general manager Steve Cohen reads, “We’ve all made mistakes, but when most of us make mistakes, it’s not in front of 100 million people watching in every corner of the world. When a player makes a mistake, they usually don’t get a shot at redemption, but with a singer, that’s a different story.”
