It’s a sad day in Memphis with the news that Rock 103 DJ John “Bad Dog” McCormack has lost his battle against leukemia, passing away late Thursday.
McCormack was diagnosed with leukemia in 2009. He fought a public battle with the disease, even broadcasting his long running radio show from his hospital bed.
In his 22 years with WEGR-FM, McCormack raised millions of dollars for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
Last November, McCormack underwent a bone marrow transplant. Even while battling cancer he helped raise millions of dollars for charity.
McCormack was 55 and leaves behind two sons.
