Titans Owner Bud Adams Guarantees 2011 NFL Season, Blames NFLPA

We can all rest easy now that Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has guaranteed the 2011 NFL season will be played regardless of the current labor issues.

Adams spoke to the press on Monday night before being honored with a lifetime humanitarian award by the T.J. Martell Foundation.

Asked what he would say to fans who want football and are sick of the NFL’s labor problems, Adams said he wants football, too.

The Titans owner said he thinks it will take a few months to work out a deal, but took a swipe at the NFLPA when he said the players haven’t wanted to work out a deal with the owners.

Perhaps the 88-year-old is getting a little senile because he apparently forgot it was the owners who opted out of the CBA.

Blaming the players for the league’s labor problems is what you’d expect an owner to say, but it doesn’t help resolve the issues.

While his optimism in getting a new CBA worked out is a measure of comfort for fans who are fretting over the possibility of a lost season, Adams would probably do himself and the NFL a favor by keeping his mouth shut.
