ESPNDallas columnist Calvin Watkins believes that Tony Romo is one of the NFL’s top 10 quarterbacks, but I beg differ. Maybe you will too.
For the record, I’m a lifelong Cowboys fan but I’ve never been one to drink the Kool-Aid, and to prove it I’ve been very hard on Romo in the past.
I honestly believe Romo is among the top 15 quarterbacks in the NFL, but to place him among the top 10 as Watkins did isn’t realistic.
While statistically Romo’s numbers show him to consistently be among the NFL’s top 10, the fact that he’s only won one playoff game since he became the starter in Dallas is a clear indicator of his value.
Unlike Roethlisberger, Rodgers and Brees, Romo has never been able to put the Cowboys on his back and carry them to a Super Bowl.
And until he does that, he may put up a lot of good numbers but those numbers are meaningless. The only number that matters is how many Super Bowl rings you’ve won.
So here’s a list of QB’s I believe are better than Tony Romo. And if you agree with Watkins that he’s among the top 10 signal callers in the NFL, that’s fine, but state your case in the comments section.
1. Tom Brady
2. Peyton Manning
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Ben Roethlisberger
5. Drew Brees
6. Philip Rivers
7. Michael Vick
8. Matt Ryan
9. Joe Flacco
10. Matt Cassel

He might not even be top 15.
