Memorial Day Is Every Day

Today we honor those that have given their lives in service to this great nation, yet one day doesn’t begin to give thanks for their sacrifices.

For me, Memorial Day is every day. Without the men and women who paid the highest cost for us, nothing of our way of life would be available.

Veterans are often heard to say that the real heroes of our nation’s conflicts were those that died in combat. I couldn’t agree more.

Having served this nation for six years, I can attest to the dedication and willingness of our armed forces to give their lives for something that really matters.

Politicians, lobbyists, special interest groups and other organizations would have you believe they are doing something to give Americans hope.

But without the sacrifice of the veteran, none of the politicians or anyone representing those groups would be in a position to offer you anything.

America was built upon a foundation that was laid by those that gave their lives because they believed in the idea of what we could become.

Over 200 years later, America has risen to be the benchmark for which other nations aspire to. That benchmark was provided for us by the brave souls that died on the battlefields all over the globe.

Don’t let today be the only day you pay homage to those that died in service to this nation. Every day is Memorial Day, because your days would be much different, or perhaps even nonexistent without the sacrifices of so many.

I’d like to thank all of my fellow veterans for their service and for those of you that lost family or friends, please accept my deepest condolences and my heartfelt thanks.

I assure you their sacrifice was not vain and they will always be remembered for what they have done for this great nation.
