ESPN college football analyst Craig James has launched the web site Texans for a Better America and could be gearing up for a U.S. Senate run.
James, who gave strong consideration to running for the U.S. Senate in 2010, told WFAA-TV in Dallas that he is interested in getting involved in politics as a member of the Republican Party.
The Texas native and former SMU running back said that he would not rule out running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Kay Bailey Hutchison in 2012.
In a recent blog post at his web site, James wrote, “As a native Texan and a proud American, I am committed to the process of sharing our conservative Texas values more widely so they can have a positive ripple effect across the country.”
