Video: Auburn Coach Gene Chizik Secrets to Success

Auburn Tigers football coach Gene Chizik was a guest on Fox and Friends discussing his new book All In, which details the keys to his success.

Chizik as you might recall wasn’t the most popular choice to replace Tommy Tuberville following the 2008 season. Chizik was a former assistant to Tuberville but left to take over at Iowa State, where he compiled a less than impressive record of 5-19 in two seasons.

Despite his poor record with the Cyclones, Chizik used the same approach once he became Auburn’s coach, placing an emphasis on faith and family that helped give the Tiger’s their first national championship in more than 50 years.

Of course, Chizik’s job was made a little easier given the fact that the quality of athletes populating Auburn’s roster were a lot better than those found at Iowa State.

But all the talent in the world doesn’t necessarily translate into success, so his coaching philosophy based in faith and family was instrumental in helping the Tigers win the BCS title.
