Oklahoma Sooners Currently Odds On Favorite To Win BCS Title

The web site Mr. SEC posted an article on Wednesday with the current Las Vegas odds for which team linesmakers believe will win the 2012 BCS national title.

As of July 7, Las Vegas oddsmakers listed Oklahoma as the team that will break the SEC’s stranglehold on the BCS national championship.

The Sooners are atop the betting line as 7-2 favorites, followed by Alabama at 9-2 and LSU at 6-1.

Four teams that are widely expected to begin the season ranked outside of the top 10 in the preseason polls – Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas and Florida – are among the oddsmakers favorites to win the BCS title.

Before anyone starts playing Boomer Sooner and crowning Oklahoma national champs, take into account how many times over the past five years some people thought a team outside of the SEC would win the BCS title.

While it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Sooners playing for the national championship, betting against what will likely be a team from the SEC isn’t smart.

In fact, if you really want to place a safe bet then you should probably put your money on the team from the mighty SEC, because that squad is going to win the game.

The SEC haters never learn, do they? Actually, they know the truth but they don’t want to admit it.
