I’ve got bad news. Comet Elenin is hurtling towards Earth and will eventually strike the planet, causing an extinction level event on October 16 this year.
And if you think that’s bad, it gets worse. Behind the comet lurks an alien fleet of space ships ready to populate the earth.
That’s the story circulating the Internet among those with really vivid imaginations, or perhaps those who are just completely nuts.
Now for the facts. There is a comet named Elenin out in space that is moving toward the general direction of Earth. Sounds like something we should be concerned with, right?
Well, not really, unless of course you think a comet that will get no closer than 22 million miles from Earth as something we should be worried about.
Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin discovered the comet on December 10, 2010, at the International Scientific Optical Network’s robotic observatory near Mayhill, New Mexico.
NASA has verified the existence of Comet Elenin and scientists have studied it at great length, but say the object possesses no danger to Earth.
However, according to the doomsday crowd NASA is covering up the truth.
In fact, one such doomsdayer says that he used NASA’s data to conclude that the U.S. government is well aware of the comet’s threat to Earth.
Dr. Mark Sircus, a pediatrician who writes for the web site Activist Post, wrote the following:
“Back in January, while investigating the underground city that is alleged to have been built under the new Denver Airport, reported on by the former governor Jesse Ventura, I put the puzzle together and came to the conclusion that a planetary event was in store for us in 2012.”
“Today I am presenting rock solid information.”
“Looking at a NASA mathematical model of comet Elenin, I found out that a large celestial body has already penetrated the solar system and is on course for a near and possibly horrific encounter with the earth in the fall of 2011.”
Rock solid information indeed. Maybe Dr. Sircus should stay away from the medicine cabinet in his office.
It gets better though.
The web site The Truth Behind The Scenes warns that the comet’s approach may bring an extraterrestrial invasion.
“Based on reports published by China’s space agency, Sergio Toscano, director for Astronomical Research in Missions, said that behind the comet Elenin could be an approaching UFO.”
“Behind the comet, discovered in December last year, Chinese scientists say is something they called cluster, which means globular cluster, or perhaps alien spacecraft.”
“Actually, many alien ships, the website goes on to say, noting that, it ‘”looked like it was coming from an extraterrestrial civilization.”‘
It tends to make you wonder why aliens would want to populate a planet rendered uninhabitable as a result of a comet strike. Hmm.

“This phenomenon was corroborated by NASA, the website claims, but the information had to be kept secret.”
Not just secret, but double secret. Like double secret probation on steroids.
Finally, we get to the part about the massive coverup.
“When NASA began to make calculations and projections of orbit of the comet, they realized that something was wrong and the first thing they did was remove the website which provided information on this issue.”
Let’s summarize.
On October 16, a comet will strike Earth and cause an extinction level event. Behind the comet is a hidden UFO fleet, so says an esteemed member of the Chinese scientific community.
An underground city exists under the Denver airport for government officials to reside after the comet strikes and aliens invade.
Oh, and the U.S. government – specifically NASA – is covering all of this up.
