The web site MuscleProdigy.com published an article listing the 10 strongest players in college football, and several SEC players were among them.
Coming in at #3 on their list was Alabama’s Trent Richardson. Having watched this kid over the past two seasons, there’s no question he is a future Hall of Famer.
According to Muscle Prodigy, Richardson bench presses 475 pounds, squats 600 pounds and power cleans 365 pounds – and he can run the 40 in 4.4.
Number six on their list is Richardson’s teammate, Josh Chapman. The Crimson Tide defensive tackle benches 580 pounds and squats 630 pounds.
LSU’s Michael Ford is #9 among college football’s strongest players. The Tigers’ running back benches 425 pounds, power cleans 352 pounds, squats 510 pounds and has a 42-inch vertical leap.
If you wondered why the SEC is college football’s most dominant conference, these three are sterling examples. The SEC has more athletes like these than any other conference, and it’s the reason why the league has won five straight BCS national championships.
