August 14 may seem like just another day, but it’s a special day because actress Mila Kunis was born on this date, and today she celebrates her 28th birthday.
If you’ve followed MoonDog Sports for any length of time you’d know I’m crazy about Mila. Can you blame me? Yes she’s beautiful and talented, but those aren’t the reasons I like her.
I like Mila because of what she’s been able to overcome. When her family came to America when she was seven, Mila didn’t speak a word of English. Her parents worked hard and raised her right, and her mother even made her work at Rite-Aid when she was part of the cast of That 70′s Show.
And during that time Mila was also basically blind in one eye due to chronic iritis, an inflammation of the iris. But she didn’t let that stop her from moving forward.
Since she’s risen to be one of the most popular celebrities on the planet, Mila hasn’t forgotten where she came from. Being an actress is what she does, but it doesn’t define who Mila is.
Mila personifies the American dream, and she’s achieved success by doing things the right way. That’s why I like her, not because of her looks or money.
Mila doesn’t know I’m alive and I’ll probably never get a chance to meet her, but that isn’t going to stop me from being impressed, nor is it going to prevent me from wishing her a happy birthday.
So, Mila Kunis, wherever you are, I’m hopeful you have a very happy birthday and I wish you all the best in the future.
We’ve featured Mila Kunis on the site so many times I’ve lost count, but here are some links to a few of my favorite photo galleries of her.
