The AP and Coaches top 25 college football polls were released on Tuesday, but as usual neither polling service reflects reality.
That being the case, I, The Great and Powerful MoonDog, will post my version of the top 25 teams in the land every week during the college football season.
After the first week, LSU ascends to the top of the MoonDog Sports College Football Top 25. Why you ask? Well, mostly because I said so, but the fact that the Tigers beat then No. 3 Oregon handily tells me everything I need to know.
Coming in at No.2 in the MoonDog Sports College Football Top 25 is Boise State. The Broncos beat then No. 19 Georgia soundly in their own back yard. Nuff said.
Oklahoma is at the top of the AP and Coaches poll, but the Sooners are No.3 in my Top 25. They beat a pretty good but unranked Tulsa team at home and their defense has issues. We’ll find out how good the Sooners are on September 17 when they face Florida State on the road.
Alabama is No.4 in my Top 25 after a mostly uninspiring win over hapless Kent State. We’ll see a different Crimson Tide team on Saturday when they face Penn State in Happy Valley.
Rounding out the top 5 in the MoonDog Sports College Football Top 25 is Florida State. The Seminoles had no trouble with Louisiana-Monroe and have another warmup game against Charleston Southern this week before their showdown with Oklahoma.
If you don’t like my top 25, list your complaints in the comments section. It won’t do you any good though. It’s my top 25 and I can rank who I want, where I want. Implied raspberry.
