Easily the biggest play among Saturday’s college football games was Oklahoma’s Landry Jones 37-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stills against Florida State.
After the Seminoles had tied the score at 13 following a 56-yard scoring pass from Clint Trickett to Rashad Green on a third and 28 play, Oklahoma didn’t waste time retaking the lead.
The Sooners put together an 8-play, 83-yard drive that ended with Jones connecting with Stills to put Oklahoma ahead for good.
Following the touchdown catch, Stills paid tribute to former Sooner linebacker Austin Box who died of an apparent overdose in May.
Stills’ catch helped solidify the Sooners as the top-ranked team in college football and gave Oklahoma the early inside track to play for the BCS national championship.
