Mom’s Facebook Post Costs Perry County (TN) Three Wins

The Perry County High Vikings were rolling along with a 5-0 record, but the mother of two players has cost the team three wins after she posted a rant on Facebook.

Perry County is located between Jackson and Columbia, Tennessee, about 143 miles from downtown Memphis.

Vikings’ offensive linemen Rodney and Ryan Belasic were declared ineligible after the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association discovered their family still has a residence in Henry County.

That revelation came about as a result of Rodney and Ryan’s mother, who posted a question on Facebook asking how her two sons could leave their rooms so messy “when they’re only here on Saturday and Sunday.”

TSSAA Executive Director Bernard Childress said Perry County coaches and administrators saw the Facebook posting and alerted the organization, according to The Tennessean.

Perry County had to vacate wins over Cornersville, Forrest and Lewis County. The Vikings were ranked No. 2 among 1A teams in this week’s Tennessee High School football poll.

We’re just speculating here, but chances are good Rodney and Ryan’s mother will not be welcomed in Perry County for the rest of her life.
