College Football Bottom 10 – New Mexico Reigns Supreme

My favorite article each week during the college football season is Mark Schlabach’s Bottom 10, a humorous look at the worst of the worst teams.

Not that the schools making the Bottom 10 are laughing mind you because there’s nothing funny about being on the list of college football’s worst teams.

After five weeks, the New Mexico Lobos hold the dubious distinction of being college football’s worst team.

The Lobos are 0-5 and have given up a whopping 215 points in their losses, an average of 43 points per game.

Coming in at No.2 on Schlabach’s list is Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are 0-4 but brighter days could be ahead when they face 1-3 Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.

Western Kentucky does have at least one more guaranteed loss though when they face top-ranked LSU on November 12.

The Akron Zips are No.3 among college football’s Bottom 10.

The Zips aren’t quite as bad as their 1-4 record would suggest because they’ve played a respectable schedule that has included Ohio State, Temple and Cincinnati.

Take a look at the rest of the teams that made college football’s Bottom 10.
