Michigan’s dreams of an undefeated season came to an end against Michigan State on Saturday, as did Denard Robinson’s Heisman Trophy aspirations.
The Wolverines lost to the Spartans for the fourth consecutive season and dealt a major blow to Michigan’s hopes of playing in the Big Ten’s first conference championship game.
With Michigan State leading 21-14 with 4:31 left in the game, Michigan began a drive from their own 35.
On the first play from scrimmage, Robinson threw a short pass that was intercepted by the Spartans’ Isiah Lewis that resulted in a 39-yard pick six.
Lewis’ touchdown put Michigan State ahead 28-14 and turned out to be the game winning score as the Spartans would go on to win 28-21.
