Christopher Chaney, the man accused of hacking into celebrities’ cell phones and e-mail accounts, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Tuesday.
The FBI arrested Chaney at his home in Jacksonville, Florida in October and charged with 26 counts of identity theft before being released on bail.
Chaney appeared before Judge Patrick Walsh in a Florida court and denied the charges.
Judge Walsh refused to remand Chaney in custody but increased his bail bond to $110,000, ordered him to wear an electronic monitoring device and told him to refrain from using computers.
Among the celebrities whose accounts Chaney allegedly hacked are actresses Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens.
All of them have had private photos leaked on the Internet in the past 12 months, including several nude photos of Johansson and multiple nude images of Hudgens.
A trial date has been set for December 27. If convicted, Chaney faces maximum 121 years in federal prison, with a mandatory minimum of two years.
