This is a special day for me, the only day of the year I can call my own. Today, in case you didn’t know, is Veterans Day, the day we honor those who have served.
As a wise man once said, “Freedom Isn’t Free.” America is free today for a number of reasons, but mostly because a lot of guys with major balls served in our armed forces.
Knowing that I’m part of a select group that wore the uniform, I look back on my time in the military with great pride. It’s comforting to know that millions will come after me who hold the same convictions.
Being in the military isn’t about making money and winning medals. It’s about doing something that truly matters and I can’t think of too many things that matter more to me than my country.
To the families and friends of those that have given their lives in service to our country, please accept my deepest condolences and my sincere thanks.
On this very special day, if you know of a family member, friend, a co-worker, a teacher or a coach, please take five seconds and utter two words: Thank you.
We don’t want parades and celebrations, just a simple gesture to recognize our service.
Thank you again to all of those that have served and please enjoy a safe and happy Veterans Day.
