A Los Angeles area elementary school is facing major criticism from parents after porn star Sasha Grey was invited to read to a group of first graders.
According to TMZ, Grey read to the children at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, California on November 2 as part of the Read Across America program.
Grey also tweeted about the experience, saying that the students were the “sweetest.”
Angry parents fired back at the school’s decision, complaining to the Parents Teachers Association, who then contacted the school’s principle.
A representative for the school district flatly denied that Grey was ever present at the school, despite the fact that TMZ produced photos of Grey reading to the kids.
“We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated was not present,” the representative told TMZ.
Sasha Grey has retired from the porn industry and has attempted a move into mainstream movies and television.
She appeared in a number of episodes of HBO’s “Entourage” last year and has also written a book titled “NEU SEX.”
