Christoper Chaney, the man accused of hacking celebrities’ e-mail accounts – including those of Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis – appeared in court on Tuesday.
Chaney will be tried on 26 charges including identity theft, unauthorized computer access and wiretapping.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment on November 1, three weeks after he was arrested following an 11-month investigation dubbed “Operation Hackerazzi” by federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.
Chaney has remained free on a $110,000 bond. If convicted of all 26 counts, Chaney could be sentenced to more than 120 years in prison.
Nude photos taken from Johansson’s cell phone surfaced on the Internet in September. Nude or partially nude photographs of Kunis and other celebrities also found their way online.
Jessica Alba, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez were also among those targeted by the alleged hacker.
