Video: 59-Year-Old Woman Scores a Goal!

Brenda Hewlett, a 59-year-old woman in need of a new pickup truck, made a nearly impossible hockey shot to make her dreams become a reality.

Hewlett was at Frenchie’s Ford dealership in Massena, New York before Christmas having her old truck serviced. She was overheard saying that her old truck was falling apart and wished she had the money to buy a new one.

Not knowing it at the time, the dealership was having a contest that would give one lucky person a have a chance to win a new pickup truck.

Hewlett completed a ballot and later that day her name was drawn. She didn’t realize that was the easy part.

In order to win the truck, Hewlett had to skate onto the ice and shoot a puck 114 feet into a hole that was a little larger than the puck itself.

The chances of making the shot were nearly impossible, even for a professional hockey player. Hewlett has never played hockey in her life, so her chances of making the shot were beyond remote, right?

Well, Hewlett’s remarkable day got even more magical when she reared back and put her best slap shot on the puck, sending it down the ice and into the hole.

Score!

There were no lights, no sirens and fans weren’t cheering, but Hewlett won a brand new Ford F-150 pickup truck.
