Great news! In an effort to support our troops serving in Afghanistan, sex toy maker RealTouch will distribute dildos to military wives.
The dildos in question won’t be of the actual variety, but rather they will be distributed virtually via the Internet.
According to RealTouch manager Scott Rinaldo, the dildos connect to a computer where data is streamed to the end user, in this case a military wife.
Just like the real thing, the virtual dildo can be used in a variety of ways, none of which we’ll detail here.
What may seem to be a smarmy way to sell sex toys, Rinaldo says he believes there’s a real social benefit to be gained from the dildos.
In fact, Rinaldo is so serious about his product that he’s actively seeking to have RealTouch approved by the U.S. military as a virtual conjugal visit of sorts.
RealTouch is a step towards improving upon virtual sex, or in this case the science of tele-dildonics.
In case you were wondering, I’m not making this up.
During my time in the military, we didn’t have anything close to computer controlled dildos. In fact, we didn’t have mobile phones or e-mail at that time.
Being able to engage in intimacy with the one you loved from 10,000 miles away was something straight out of Star Trek.
Whatever his motives, I’ll at least give Rinaldo credit for thinking way outside of the box.
