Vandy’s For Real, Mizzou Dominates, Tide Survives
Monday, October 6th, 2008While this past weekend’s college football action was devoid of major upsets, it wasn’t any less exciting as Vanderbilt and Ohio State got come from behind wins and the Big 12 Conference showcased the nation’s best group of quarterbacks.
How good is the Big 12 this season? Really good, in my mind the best conference in [...]
Changing QB’s Doesn’t Help Vols Offense
Sunday, October 5th, 2008I didn’t have to watch the game, the score told me everything I needed to know. In reality, I don’t have to watch the Vols play another down of football this season because I know what’s going to happen.
It’s not going to matter who the Volunteers put behind center, unless that person’s name is [...]
Stephens To Start For Vols vs NIU
Saturday, October 4th, 2008From The Associated Press
Tennessee will start Nick Stephens at quarterback on Saturday night as the Volunteers look to spark their offense against Northern Illinois.
Coach Phillip Fulmer announced Friday that Stephens will replace starter Jonathan Crompton, who was forced to compete for the job after going 8-for-23 for 67 yards in the Vols’ 14-12 loss to [...]
If Fulmer Really Loved Tennessee, He’d Step Down
Friday, October 3rd, 2008I was having a conversation with Ken yesterday and after taking care of business, the subject turned to football. We exchanged thoughts about the situation at Tennessee and the much maligned head coach, Phil Fulmer.
I mentioned the article I wrote yesterday, outlining the terms of Fulmer’s buyout and the expense the university would incur if [...]

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008Police are investigating an early Sunday morning vandalism incident in the Blount County subdivision where University of Tennessee Coach Phil Fulmer resides.
The police report states the vandalism incident consisted of two dozen eggs being thrown at the Fulmer residence and other nearby homes.
In addition to the eggs being thrown at the homes, two [...]
Crompton Quote Machine, Fulmer’s Buyout
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008Since he’s been running his mouth more lately than he has the Tennessee offense, Vols’ quarterback Jonathan Crompton has become the Knoxville media’s go to guy.
Yesterday Crompton was asked about the open competition this week between him and backup quarterbacks Nick Stephens and B.J. Coleman to determine the starter against Northern Illinois on Saturday.
Crompton has [...]
